Fast Forward was founded in 1999 and though a few members have came and gone, were definitely at our best right now! We still have three original members and have just released our first C.D titled Fast Forward "1420 Broken Heart Avenue." The title cut, along with five other songs, were written within the group. Also included is a great Roy McMillan penned song titled "I Ought To Know You", which takes us through a sad journey of a mother with alzhimers who don't know her own son. Be looking for the project in July. Here are our stories.
Ashley Primm - I am the lead singer and bass player. After singing country music early in my career, I was turned on to bluegrass music and fasinated by the harmonies and vocal arrangements in bluegrass music. I'll always be a lead singer but I really enjoy singing harmony parts as well. I play the bass with the "three T's" always in mind. It's good to have a lot of tricks in the bag, but the key is knowing when to pull them out! My influences are Wayne Taylor of Blue Highway and Tracy Burcham of Savannah Road. Although I didn't take any formal lessons from either, I thank them for showing me the way. It just goes to show you why a good musician always plays their best, because you never know who's taking lessons from you!

Josh Pickett plays the guitar. Man, what a guitar player! It's really been a pleasure to watch him evolve into one of the best guitar players in the country. I can remember about 3 years ago when Josh entered his first guitar compitition. I could really see the potential, and when he won Merlefest in 2001, everyone could see what I saw at that first competition. It's great to have potential, a lot of people do, but what is done with that potential is entirely up to the individual. This is what sets him apart. But remember this, he's only getting started! Josh's guitar hero is Kenny Smith. He sets the standard.

Chris Harris plays the mandolin and sings lead and harmony vocals. The first time I met Chris we were at the same competition that Josh had entered. He was thirteen years old and wearing the mandolin out! We decided to form a band and enter the competition. We sang "Little Cabin Home On The Hill" and Chris was picking and singing tenor better than anyone there. He won the mandolin competition that night and has been with us ever since! Chris is an excellent singer and mandolin player who is much ahead of where he should be for a sixteen year old kid. He has a lot of pressure on him dealing with school, getting a drivers license, and all those pretty little girls! He has the potential and it's in his hands now. Chris' hero's are Alan Bibey and Adam Steffey.

David Carroll plays banjo and sings harmony. Josh and I met David in the winter of 1999 at a big jam session around home and was amazed at his ability. We lost track of him for over a year and luckily met up with him at a band showcase in Williamsburg, VA. It just so happened that we needed a banjo player and he needed a band so a year later, here we are. We've enjoyed David's killer banjo playing and the easy going personality he brings to the group. We've also discovered that he's a great baritone singer and his tenor isn't bad either! I know you'll be amazed like we are to see David work that five string! His heros are Scott Vestal, Sammy Shelor, and Terry Baucom.
